Anna n’est pas seulement venue pour couvrir les livres……. Elle a pour mission de proposer des animations hebdomadaires autour d’un livre choisi pour la semaine.Pas facile de passer du public du 5ième arrondissement de Paris à celui d’Orwetoveni : toujours des enfants, certes, mais de culture et de milieux socio-économiques différents. Un vrai challenge !

Faire la lecture, d’abord, à des enfants qui ne maitrisent pas tous forcément la langue anglaise, les intéresser à l’histoire, les faire participer, stimuler leur imagination sur des textes qui leur « parlent ».Et comme c’est en forgeant qu’on devient forgeron, la seule solution c’est de se lancer. Alors au début on tâtonne, on commence par des animations simples, principalement constituées de dessins autour d’une lecture, puis on apprend à sonder le jeune public et on fait évoluer les animations vers des discussions, débats autour du livre et des thèmes qu’ils évoquent.Et les enfants suivent : au début silencieux et très studieux, ils se désinhibent peu à peu et commencent à parler d’eux même, à intervenir. En quittant la pièce, Ils ont le sourire aux lèvres et demandent quand ils pourront revenir.Alors même si le débat est parfois difficile, si l’imagination des enfants ne nous mène pas là où on voudrait aller, on se dit que l’on est sur la bonne voie quand on les voit contents de leur travail et pressés de revenir.

Anna is not only coming to cover books. Her mission is to offer to the children weekly activities around a book chosen for the week. Not easy to move from the public of the 5th arrondissement of Paris to those of Orwetoveni: always children, certainly, but from different culture and coming from different socio-economic backgrounds. A real challenge !

One must first read to children who do not all necessarily master the English language, interesting them in the story, involving them, stimulating their imagination on texts which "talk" to them. And as practice makes perfect, the only solution is to get started. So, at first, one grope, one begin with simple animations, mainly reading a book and one leaves the children drawing the personages of the story. Then one learns to probe the young audience and the animations turn into discussions, into debates around the book and the themes that it evokes.And the children follow: initially silent and very studious, they desinhibe themselves little by little and start talking of themselves and getting involved. Finally, after the animation, they ask, with a smile, when will they be able to return.So even if the debate is sometimes difficult, if children's imagination does not bring us where we want to go, we say ourselves that we are on the right tracks when we see the children happy of their work and eager to come back.
